We hold the state-controlled tests and exams:

When
The exams take place twice a year:
In May/June and November/December. Se dates and registration deadlines are listed below.

Where
We hold the exams in Copenhagen, Greve, Ringkøbing, Silkeborg, Sønderborg and Tønder.

Price
To attend the Danish exams PD1, PD2, PD3 and Studieprøven as well as Indfødsretsprøven and Medborgerskabsprøven you must pay a fee.

Danish exams are free of charge for students at UCplus
PD1, PD2, PD3 and Studieprøven are of course free of charge for students at UCplus.

Photo ID
For both the written and the oral examination, you must bring photo identification in the form of:

  • Passport, residence card, foreign passport, convention passport issued by the Danish authority
  • Passport or identity card issued by a public authority in an EU/EEA country or in Switzerland
  • Passport or other valid travel identification with photo issued by a public authority in a country other than the countries mentioned above
  • Driver’s license (not valid Photo ID at Indfødsretsprøven and Medborgerskabsprøven)

If you cannot show valid photo ID before attending the examination, we will have to reject you and you will not be able to participate in the examination. Read more about the ID requirements here.

Prepare yourself for the Danish exams at UCplus
At UCplus you will be well-prepared for the exam. We have information meetings prior to all Danish exams and preparatory PD3 and Studieprøve classes in Copenhagen.

Complaints
You can complain about the test, the course or the assessment in both written and oral tests. The complaint must be in writing and justified. The appeal deadline is four weeks after you have been informed of your grade. You can read more in the complaint guidelines here.

Disease – applicable only to Danish exams
In the event of illness during either the written or oral examination, you may, upon presentation of a medical certificate, take the missing part of the exam at the next examination session. You should contact the school where you were registered for the exam as soon as possible if you wish to avail yourself of this opportunity.

Special test conditions
If you are dyslexic or have a physical or mental disability, you can apply for a waiver to take the test with special conditions. After registering for the test, you must contact the school where you are taking the test no later than eight weeks before the written test is held. The school must have documentation of your disability. Find your local language center and related information here.

The exams are held in accordance to the “Prøvebekendtgørelsen” and “Karakterbekendtgørelsen”. Read more at the Ministry’s website.

Studieprøven

The written part of Studieprøven is held next time on the 11th of November 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 14:00.

Oral part of the examination is held from 2nd – 13th of December 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 16:30.

Studieprøven is the final examination on Danish Education 3, module 6 (C1-level). Studieprøven is the highest level of Danish Education. Studieprøven is useful e.g. if you plan to study in Denmark.

Studieprøven consist of both a written and an oral part. The written part consist of: Reading comprehension 1 and 2 (Læseforståelse) and Written presentation (Skriftlig fremstilling). At the oral examination, you will be tested in listening comprehension and oral communication. Attending Studieprøven for the first time requires that you register for both the written and the oral part. If you do not pass both parts in first attempt, you can try again by retake the one part you did not pass. Therefore, the written and the oral part can be purchased separately.

Studieprøven is free of charge for students at UCplus who are enroled on module 3.6. As a student, you will automatically be enrolled in the test after an agreement with your teacher.

The registration deadline is 2nd of September 2024.

Prøve i Dansk 3

The written part of PD3 is held next time on the 12th of November 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 13:30.

Oral part of the examination is held from 2nd – 13th of December 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 16:30.

PD3 is the final examination on Danish Education 3, module 5 (B2-level). You can use PD3 for applying for Danish citizenship, among other things.

PD3 consist of both a written and an oral part. The written part consist of: Reading comprehension 1 and 2 (Læseforståelse) and Written presentation (Skriftlig fremstilling). At the oral examination, you will be tested in listening comprehension and oral communication.

PD3 is free of charge for students at UCplus who are enroled on module 3.5. As a student, you will automatically be enrolled in the exam after an agreement with your teacher.

The registration deadline is 2nd of September 2024.

Prøve i Dansk 2

The written part of PD2 is held next time on the 13th of November 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 12:30.

Oral part of the examination is held from 2nd – 13th of December 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 16:30.

PD2 is the final examination on Danish Education 2, module 6 (written B1, oral B1+). You can use PD2 for applying for permanent residence, among other things.

PD2 consist of both a written and an oral part. The written part consist of: Reading comprehension 1 and 2 (Læseforståelse) and Written presentation (Skriftlig fremstilling). At the oral examination, you will be tested in listening comprehension and oral communication.

PD2 is free of charge for students at UCplus who are enroled on module 2.6. As a student, you will automatically be enrolled in the exam after an agreement with your teacher.

The registration deadline is 2nd of September 2024.

Prøve i Dansk 1

The written part of PD1 is held next time on the 14th of November 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 12:00.

Oral part of the examination is held from 2nd – 13th of December 2024 from 09:00 to approx. 16:30.

PD1 is the final examination on Danish Education 1, module 6 (written A2, oral B1). You can use PD1 in your job search, among other things.

PD1 consist of both a written and an oral part. The written part consist of: Reading comprehension 1 and 2 (Læseforståelse) and Written presentation (Skriftlig fremstilling). At the oral examination, you will be tested in listening comprehension and oral communication.

PD1 is free of charge for students at UCplus who are enroled on module 1.6. As a student, you will automatically be enrolled in the exam after an agreement with your teacher.

The registration deadline is 2nd of September 2024.

Tests

 

Medborgerskabsprøven

Medborgerskabsprøven is held next time on the 27th of November 2024.

In order to obtain a permanent residence permit, foreigners in Denmark must, among other things, meet 2 out of 4 conditions. One of these conditions can be met by passing Medborgerskabsprøven. Exam participants will be tested in knowledge of Danish community, Danish culture and history.

The test is multiple choice and contains 25 questions. You must have a minimum of 20 right answers to pass.

The registration deadline is 23rd of October 2024.

Indfødsretsprøven

Indfødsretsprøven is held next time the 27th of November 2024.

Indfødsretsprøven is a test in knowledge of the Danish community, Danish culture and history. Foreigners in Denmark must pass Indfødsretsprøven and meet a number of other conditions to obtain a Danish citizenship.

The test is multiple choice and contains 45 questions. You must have a minimum of 36 right answers to pass.

The registration deadline is 23rd of October 2024.
