All activities are free for Danish students at UCplus. It requires sign up, since there is a limited amount of participants for each activity.

The Open-Air Museum

At the Open-Air Museum, you can step into a world of houses, farms, gardens, and mills as they were when our ancestors laid the foundation for the Denmark we know today. Visit the Open-Air Museum and see, feel, touch, and smell ‘Denmark in the good old days’.

Roskilde Cathedral

Explore the royal heritage of Denmark. Roskilde cathedral is a royal burial ground and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The cathedral’s architecture is formidable, and the church continues to serve as a parish church. After a trip in and around the cathedral, we will go for a walk in the old and beautiful town and finish the day off by admiring old Viking ships in Roskilde Harbor. Following this, you will have the opportunity to visit the Viking Museum on your own.

Danish Design Museum

Danish design is well-known and beloved – both domestically and abroad. But what actually lead to its success, which designs are essential, and who are the great Danish designers of the 20th century? We will visit the exhibition “Danish Modern”, which tells the of Danish design from the 1920s to the 1970s while focusing on the creation of some of the most iconic Danish design artifacts.

The Workers Museum “Women’s lives”

We will visit the exhibition ‘Women’s Lives’: The story of how women wrote themselves into Danish history books. The exhibition is a narrative of both the well and lesser-known women of labor history. It explores struggles, everyday life, equality, and equal pay. It delves into the rights to one’s own body and to a place in history.

Copenhagen Canal tour

Experience beautiful Copenhagen on the water. We will see the city from a boat and learn more about the city’s sights. After the canal trip, we will go to a café for some proper ‘hygge’ and talk about everything we learned.

Denmark’s first fast food – the open sandwich “smørrebrød” – has experienced a culinary revival in recent years! Discover a new side of Danish cuisine when seasonal vegetables, different textures and flavor profiles, beautiful decorations, and tasty bread is combined to an explosion of flavors you may not associate with Danish food – and it will be 100% vegan. We’ll create and enjoy our creations together, and you’ll get the recipes with you to surprise friends and family.

Visiting the Museum of Copenhagen is like walking through the city and discovering its history all the way from the first traces of man to present day. What did Copenhagen look like in The Viking Age? What is the story behind the most famous buildings, and how did the Copenhageners of the distant past live their lives?
