UCplus is a country-wide educational centre which offers Danish and continuing education courses for adult Danes and foreign citizens. We have more than 35 years of experience in adult education, and we are particularly known for our high professional standards, flexibility and labour market-oriented focus. Our courses are continually adapted to reflect and match societal needs in terms of training individuals to become both knowledgeable citizens and capable employees.
The UCplus Centre for Danish Language Education was established in 2007, which was also the year we were authorised by the Danish government as a provider of Danish language courses. Our head office is located in Skovlunde near Copenhagen, and we also have branches in Greve as well as Farsø in Northern Jutland. Additionally, we also offer Intro Danish (Danish for the labour market) courses in Copenhagen municipality.
UCplus offers the following types of courses: Adult vocational training (AMU), vocational education and training (EUD), preparatory education for adults (FVU) and the ministerial Danish language training programmes 1, 2 and 3. UCplus enrols more than 12,000 students across Denmark each year.
In 2013, UCplus Skovlunde was authorised to also offer preparatory education for adults (FVU) courses. UCplus currently has an ongoing agreement with the Danish bus industry, where companies send their employees to UCplus with a view to improve their Danish language and maths skills. In doing so, UCplus and its collaborating partners (both employers and job centres) have put into action a job rotation scheme and created a number of new jobs in the process.
Our courses include the following:
- The official ministerial Danish language training programmes 1, 2 and 3
- Courses on Danish society, culture and history
- Intro Danish (Danish for the labour market)
- Danish for adult vocational training (AMU) courses
- Preparatory education for adults (FVU) – Danish and Maths
- Combined Danish and Driver education programme
UCplus is authorised by the Danish state to hold the final Danish language examinations and the Danish citizenship test.
Pre-admission reviews and referrals
We hold pre-admission reviews weekly or as needed/agreed.
If you would like to refer an individual, please fill out and print this referral form.
UCplus regularly updates referring authorities on the progress of any students they have referred to one of our language centres.
Each month, the referring authority receives an electronic report on the student’s progress. The report includes information on the student’s attendance, progression, milestones and when they are expected to complete the course.
