UCplus is a country-wide educational centre which, among other things, offers Danish language courses for adult foreigners in Denmark. We are a professional company with more than 40 years of experience in adult education and we are particularly known for our high professional standards, flexibility and labour market orientation. Our courses are continually adapted to reflect and match societal needs in terms of training individuals to become both knowledgeable citizens and capable employees.
The UCplus Centre for Danish Language Education was established in 2007, which was also the year we were authorised by the Danish government as a provider of Danish language courses. Our head office is located in Skovlunde near Copenhagen and we also have branches in Greve as well as Farsø in Northern Jutland. In Copenhagen we offer lessons placed directly at educational institutions and workplaces.
Our courses include
- the official ministerial Danish language training programmes 1, 2 and 3
- courses on Danish society, culture and history
- Intro Danish (Danish for the labour market)
- adult vocational training (AMU) Danish courses
- preparatory education for adults (FVU) Danish and maths courses
- a combined Danish and driver education programme.
In 2013, UCplus Skovlunde was authorised to also offer preparatory education for adults (FVU) courses. UCplus currently has an ongoing agreement with the Danish bus industry, where companies send their employees to UCplus with a view to improving their Danish language and maths skills. In doing so, UCplus and its collaborating partners (both employers and job centres) have put into action a job rotation scheme and created a number of new jobs in the process.
In addition to its Centre for Danish Language Education, UCplus also offers courses in the field of public transport.
Over the past 40 years, UCplus has specialised in basic and continuing education and training of drivers in the transport industry.
In addition to its Danish courses, UCplus trains bus drivers, taxi drivers, truck/lorry drivers, drivers for disabled people and train crew members.
On average, UCplus delivers basic training to 400 bus drivers annually. The majority of these are trained in the Capital Region and the rest in Central Jutland. Not only this, but 8,000 employees also attend UCplus’ continuing education courses annually.
The basic training comprises both adult vocational training (AMU) courses and vocational education and training (EUD) programmes. UCplus offers a combined Danish and driver education programme aimed at new Danish citizens with inadequate Danish language skills.
